We’re fortunate to find ourselves engaging in amazing conversations with strangers, clients, friends, family, colleagues, business vendors and the like. Recently in conversations the theme of Recognizing What’s Really Important in Life has continued to emerge. We think the holidays have people reflecting on the last couple of years and looking at economic and social challenges (both personally and globally). Our conversations are ending with people looking to 2010 to seed new prosperity, reenergize, and renew. Whatever the reason for the conversations we’re running with the theme and dedicating a blog category to it.

We see every day as an opportunity to take a stand and do something. Whether that something is an act as little as smiling at a stranger or as large as developing a solution to end world hunger – we see everyday as a day to connect, progress, evolve, learn, share, and act. So, running with the blog theme from time to time we will be sharing or commenting on something to do with Recognizing What’s Really Important in Life. Let us know what you think. We’re always down to hear feedback.

So taking the initial approach of “a picture’s worth a thousand words” we think the following Playing for Change video captures the essence of recent our conversations:

We’ve been noticing new clients say that until meeting us they had no idea what PR actually entailed and that we lack “the vague PR speak.” This may have to do with the fact that we love what we do, love to talk story, and that we consider ourselves “an agency of a different color.” Whatever the reason, we thought it’d be fun to demystify the world of communications via a blog series on our new site. :)!

So, during the next few weeks we will breakdown the “PR speak” as well as tactics and strategies that generally comprise a communications plan. We’re going to answer the how, what and why questions we find ourselves frequently answering.

This week we’ll be going through how we use the public relations tools below to get client messages out to targeted audiences:

- Press Releases

- Media advisories

- Talking Points

Let us know if you have a question or would like us to cover a topic. We enjoy being able to pass on information if it helps others.
